ANNUAL IMIHIGO EVALUATION FOR THE YEAR 2015/2016
IPAR-Rwanda has been contracted by the Prime Minister’s Office for the third consecutive year, to conduct research and evaluate Rwandan performance contracts (Imihigo), 2015/2016.
The main objective of the evaluation is to assess the performance against the targets, identify challenges encountered, establish gaps and give recommendations to inform the future generation of the Government of Rwanda Imihigo planning and implementation process.
In turn this evaluation of Imihigo supports the Government of Rwanda, Central and Local Governments to improve their future planning, accountability, increased knowledge and better decision making.
The Evaluation of Ministries, their agencies and districts kicked off on 15th June, and is expected to be completed by 25th July, 2016.
The Executive Director and Director of Research IPAR, Ms. Eugenia Kayitesi and Professor Alfred Bizoza respectively, attended the 7th Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa which took place in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 13th to 16th June, 2016.
The Conference, which is organized every three years, is a forum for all stakeholders in African agriculture Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) to reflect on their achievements and craft strategies and actions, aimed at enhancing the contribution of agriculture STI towards accelerating the continent’s economic and social transformation.
With the overall theme of, “Apply Science, Impact Livelihoods”, the Conference attracted hundreds of participants from within and outside Africa and was presided over by the Prime Minister of Rwanda, Anastase Murekezi.
ECONOMIC POLICY RESEARCH NETWORK PUBLIC LECTURE
The Economic Policy Research Network (EPRN) through the Institute of Policy Analysis and Research in collaboration with GIZ-MINECOFIN, is organizing a public lecture to brainstorm and discuss on, “Cost Benefit Analysis as a tool for project evaluation and selection”.
The lecture which will take place on 19th July, 2016 at University of Rwanda-Gikondo Campus from 11:00am to 1:00pm, will be delivered by Valeria Valeri and Eric Van Drunen. The lecture is expected to bring together EPRN members, researchers, academicians, policy makers in the Government and private institutions and development partners.
