IPAR-Rwanda is an independent non-profit think-tank whose mandate is to carry out policy analysis and research to inform policy and decision-making and promote a culture of debate on policy issues in Rwanda.

As part of its contribution to a culture of public debate and dialogue on policy issues and with financial support from African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), every year, IPAR-Rwanda organizes a conference that brings together researchers and policy makers to dialogue and disseminate research findings from its scholars and other research and academic institutions. IPAR thus is organising its 6th Annual Conference which will be held in March, 2017 and will attract researchers, professionals and decision makers working in higher education institutions, government, development partners and civil society organisations.

This year’s main theme is “Secure Biodiversity and Ensure Natural Resource Management toward Sustainable Development,” which will have four sub-themes:

• Prospects of Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management for Sustainable Development
• Role of the national capital accounting and data requirements
• The nexus between economic development and biodiversity conservation and natural resources management
• Policies for biodiversity and natural resources management
