ANNUAL IMIHIGO EVALUATION FOR THE YEAR 2016/2017

The Office of the Prime Minister has commissioned IPAR-Rwanda to conduct the evaluation of the performance contracts ( known as Imihigo) for the central and local government for the period 2016/2017.  The Evaluation of Ministries, their agencies and districts kicked off on 20th June 2017, and the data collection is expected to be completed by 1st August, 2017.

The main objective of the evaluation is to assess the performance against the targets, identify challenges encountered, establish gaps and give recommendations to inform the future generation of the Government of Rwanda Imihigo planning and implementation process. Results are also expected to improve the future planning, accountability, and increased knowledge and better decision making.

EVALUATION OF THE SEVEN YEAR GOVERNMENT PROGRAM (2010-2017)

For the last eight months IPAR- Rwanda has been involved in the evaluation of the Seven Year Government Program (7YGP) which will serve as a tool to improve and inform government on future planning. The evaluation was done in two main phases – phase one focused on the assessment of the effectiveness and relevance of the program as indicated in our previous e-mail update. The on-going second phase relates to the assessment of impact and sustainability of the program. The final report is expected to be submitted by end of July 2017.
