IPAR-Rwanda is an independent local think-tank whose major role is to carry out policy analysis and research to deliver informed policy recommendations to inform policy debate and decision-making. It seeks to strengthen the evidence base available to government, civil society, and development partners regarding the pressing social, economic, and political issues facing Rwanda. It has an engagement strategy which is designed to ensure that beneficiaries as well as stakeholders are engaged with its work. Its research is designed to support the Rwandan Government in achieving its 2020 Vision - economic growth and full employment, social protection for the vulnerable and improved governance.
As part of its contribution to a culture of public debate and dialogue on policy issues in the country and with financial support from African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), on 24th March 2016 IPAR-Rwanda organized a research conference that brought together researchers, policy makers, civil society organizations and development partners to discuss research findings from its scholars and those from other research and academic institutions.
